What is the specific problem you are addressing?
As the vehicle became increasingly convenience features enabled, almost 30% of energy burned goes into the powering these features. Horizer turns any vehicle into a solar-powered hybrid electric vehicle, powering vehicle`s auxiliary energy usage by solar module. Internal combustion engine (ICE) cars are polluting cities, and are under increasing regulatory pressure regarding emissions.
Automobiles make the biggest dent into the environment by polluting with particles, ammonia and carbon oxides, as well as thermally. 98% of the vehicles on the road are ICE powered, and that is 1 billion of ICE vehicles. 75% of them are having government restrictions and large taxes. This equates to 190 billion EUR market opportunity globally. Horizer is addressing this with a clean, efficient and mobile solution.

Horizer turns any vehicle into a solar-powered electric car. Reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by 30%.
What is the underlying technology that you are using?
Horizer transforms 98% of the market into cleaner vehicles with Energy of Things. Flexible thin-film solar panel, batteries, installation, the app that tracks everything energy-related and handles certification for 90% lower price than any other solution. Future cars are electric and solar. But what about today? 98% are ICE. Neck breaking speed of urbanization is adding challenges and putting additional pressure on urban mobility. If you want to go clean you have to invest significantly. You have to commit to charging to the power stations. Turning solar means large spaces usage and expensive solutions. Transforming the whole engine and battery system is expensive and is not economically viable. We have our focus on auxiliary systems (A/C, Entertainment, Navigation, Power Windows, Communications, etc.). They are already powered by battery. These are not essential for a mobility purpose of the car, but it uses averagely 30 % of the fuel in the cases of urban mobility. Horizer developed a process of tying in to existing vehicle batteries and telematics by connecting to the alternator via split charge diode controller we have. The installation takes under 1 hour . We are using Flexible CIGS as PV modules. Horizer's module works with existing gas-powered cars by switching off the alternator, enabling usage of solar module generated power for the automotive electronics.
